Rules and Guidelines
Stipulation I - General
Please follow all proboard rules and regulations when dealing with this site. Do not powerplay (play someone else's character without permission) or godmode (control the roleplay). One is allowed a single account and name in the game. Please respect all staff members and be willing to follow any and all other guidelines they may set for you. As far as rules for chat, do not impersonate anyone, and do not advertise anywhere except the ad & affi board, please. Also, in the RP section of the site, in character posts must be 250 words or over. Also, this is a PG-13+ site, so adult content is allowed. If you have 'R' rated content in your posts, please label them as such in the topic.
Stipulation II - Characters
When beginning the game, one may only have a single character. Once staff members deem a player literate enough for more, they may create more accordingly. Do not use your character (in SIM or RP) before he/she is approved. You must be a human character, but you may also play your equines in the roleplay phase.
Characters will be ranked as amateurs or professionals. Everyone starts as an amateur, and must progress through the ranks to become a professional. To do this, one must be an active game member for a little while, and be able to pass a horsemanship test given by staff members.
When showing, professionals are allowed an advantage, but are not allowed to show in amateur classes. They do, however, have a higher income.
Any professional may also go one step farther, and take their Trainer's exam. This will give them a 'trainer's license' that allows them to train horses and charge a fee. They can also charge a fee to ride someone's horse in a SIM or RP show class. The password to the creation board is 'jamieisawesome'.
Stipulation III - Horses
Each person may start the game by creating one horse. This horse may be of any age and any type. ALL horses on this forum must be the Morgan horse breed. Creation must be realistic (for example, no 19 hand Morgans or ones with purple-green eyes).
If you wish to create a Morgan that already exists in real life, you must have a reason for doing so, some knowledge of this animal, and staff permission. Permission will most likely depend on the level of success this horse has seen in the show ring.
Horses can be shown in young horse/green divisions only a month after they are created. They can be skipped forward to any older age at any time by the owner with staff permission. After that, they can show in anything until they have existed 12 months in real-life time. Then they must be retired. The horses will not age in years, but will age by division. For example, they will start as untrained, go to Junior horse, and then Open/Junior Exhibitor/Amateur mounts, and finally, retirement. Again, one may request to have their horse moved up an age division at any time, but never back.
Breeding is another option if you have already created a horse, and don't wish to acquire one that is already created. You may breed any mares or stallions that are above Junior horse age. You may not breed mares more than once a week. You may not breed a stallion more than twice a week.
Stipulation IV - Showing
Any horse that is of proper age for a class may enter. Results are decided by an appointed 'judge' of the show. A horse will have a better chance of winning if they have a) shown before b) are trained in the type of discipline they are showing and c) in the case of open classes, are shown by a professional. Money will be given out accordingly to the winners.
If you have an untrained horse, it may be trained by any professional for fee for any division you wish it to be trained in. A horse may be trained in multiple divisions if it is realistic. (For example, you wouldn't have a young park horse also be trained as a jumper or hunter). Even if you find a trainer to grant permission to train as such, know that this horse will most likely not find success in that division.
SIM Showing- In SIM classified shows, all the owner is required to do is enter their horses in the class. A judge will decide on pedigree, name, and previous winnings alone.
RP Showing- In RP classified shows, an owner will enter their horse(s) and then post a written entry of how their horse performed in the class. This will be judged in addition to the status that the SIM shows base placings on. These are good shows to start in if your horse hasn't shown before. This is because the roleplayers knowledge is judged as well. Rounds that are realistic and well-written will most likely be placed higher than terribly written or make their horse seem perfect every single moment of all of the classes.
